Hello

My name is Barry, and The Sports Rehab Clinic was established after I relocated from Essex to Monikie, Angus. I am a qualified Sports Rehabilitator, accredited by BASRaT, and have owned a successful clinic for over 8 years in Essex.

I hold a BSc in Sports Science and a Masters in Sports Rehabilitation, graduating in 2017. As a member of BASRaT, I take my professional development seriously and regularly attend specialist courses and research into new techniques and theories, striving to stay at the forefront of my field.

I am also qualified in Pregnancy massage and Postnatal Recovery. I trained in these areas to support my wife when she was carrying our first child, and realised the support she needed once our daughter was born following her caesarean section. Since training in these areas I have helped lots of new mums through discomfort and pain, as well as getting them safely back to sport.

My clinic is based at my home address, but I am also able to offer mobile appointments to those who are not able to visit the clinic; or those who have a sporting event that they would like me to attend with them.

MY STORY

My journey in sports began with a competitive rugby background, including a trial for Scotland. Unfortunately, injuries hindered my dream of playing professionally, and back in the early 2000s, access to rehabilitation professionals was limited. Witnessing advancements in this field inspired me to help others recover from injuries and enhance their performance through strength and exercise.

I still play for Panmure RFC, and my experience with contact sports informs my practice. However, my diverse client base includes athletes from various sports, including those who have represented Great Britain in kayaking, triathlons, and archery.
